Do You Know About the Initiatves on the Ballot This Fall?

While Washington families are struggling to pay for food, housing, and health care, a MAGA mega-donor is spending millions on two poorly written initiatives. I-001 removes common sense protections for child abuse victims. I-638 could put girls at greater risk of harm by requiring invasive genital exams to play sports.

​Washington school counselors, school nurses, and pediatricians say I-001 restricts student access to help for challenges like depression, sexual assault, domestic violence, bullying, and anxiety.
Parents have the right to know what’s going on with their kids at school. But while most parents are loving and supportive, the sad reality is not all kids are safe at home. Child abuse is more widespread than most realize: there were 117,629 reports of child abuse or neglect in Washington in 2024 alone.

Vote NO on IL26-638

Nurses and doctors say IL26-638 will subject girls to invasive, medically unnecessary, and potentially harmful genital exams to verify their sex for sports’ physicals. We all want to protect girls, but I-638 discriminates against girls and puts them at risk of harm.
